The Wuhan newspaper industry has developed rapidly through the 20 years after 1978, and the competition is very fierce now.As a whole, the Wuhan newspaper industry , in the macroscopica perpective, has developed through two stages:one is the disperse competition stage. In this stage, there are some charectaristic as following:the competition focus on city newspaper;there are homogenous competition;the specialized newspaper developed slowly;the chutian metropolis daily has occupied the overwhelming majority quota of wuhan newspaper industry market. And the second stage is the competition of newspaper groups. In this stage, there are some charectaristic as following:as far as the Hubei Daily Newspaper Group concerned , the stuctrue of the media products is reasonable and its convergent managemant has achieved basic goals;while Changjiang Daily Newspaper Group in an adverse situation in the competition and it's a huge task for them to carry out the material convergent managemant. After considering the history of the competition , I get elementary conclusions as follows: orientating newspaper - positioning media products -setting up industry chains are the changes of the formost factor in the newspaper industry competition .After analysing the three changes , then to discuss how the two newspaper groups set up reasonable culture industry chainsIn a word, the three fatal changes of the competition only reflect some characteristics of the newspaper industry competition, there were many other important factors not included in my hypothesis .And because there no successful case and modle as reference, so how newspaper groups set up reasonble culture industry chains is still need futher discussion.
