Information,Expression And Action:A Study On The Use Of Smart Phones Of New Generation Migrant Workers From The Perspective Of Technology Empowerment

China's urbanization process has accelerated the flow of urban and rural population.The new generation of migrant workers is gradually replacing the older generation of migrant workers as the backbone of the labor market.This article is based on the "country-society" macro vision,the reality of technological empowerment,and the study of the new generation of migrant workers' media ecology.Starting from the development of the theory of empowerment of communication and the reality of the transformation of the state and society under the impact of technology,from the perspective of information-expression-Three dimensions of action to describe and analyze the ecological picture of the technological empowerment of the new generation of migrant workers.First,the paper summarizes the four characteristics of the new generation of migrant workers' smartphone use: the rupture and rituality of the contact time of mobile phones,the preference for the motivation to communicate and obtain information,and the usage habits of maintaining existing relationships with WeChat and QQ.Cross-analyzing the use of this group's smartphones and social background,it was found that male and female new generation migrant workers prefer Weibo to men,and men prefer news clients and posts to women.The survey object of city hukou prefers Weibo and news clients.By comparing different educational backgrounds,it is found that the new generation of migrant workers with junior high school education prefer WeChat,a new social media,to the new generation of migrant workers with primary school education and below.The new generation of migrant workers with high school education are more pursuing to meet information needs,life service needs and learning needs when surfing the Internet.Survey respondents with high school diplomas prefer to use Weibo and QQ.In addition,the post-80 s pay more attention to obtaining social information than the post-90 s,and the post-90 s pay more attention to information acquisition than the post-00 s,which is related to the length of time they enter the society.It is found that the post-80 s are more likely to use WeChat,news pop-ups and Baidu search than the post-90 s.The post-90 s tend to use Weibo and QQ than the post-80 s.Researchers after the 90 s are more inclined to use WeChat and news pop-ups,while people after the 00 s prefer QQ.Secondly,the paper conducts a descriptive analysis on the information dimension,the expression dimension and the action dimension.The information layer is divided into two levels: information acquisition and judgment ability;the expression layer is divided into two aspects: the possibility of expression and the resistance of symbols;the performance of the action layer For the interaction mechanism and joining the group.At the level of information empowerment,it is found that there are four characteristics of the information acquisition of the new generation of migrant workers: random access,habitual access,questionable access,and passive access.Their information acquisition ability and information judgment ability are low;at the level of expression and empowerment,the research object has an expression channel.Through long-term observation of a WeChat group,it is found that social media on smartphones,especially WeChat,has become a new form of power granting and shaping.Fields,small videos,emoticons and other symbolic forms have become the new weapons of the new generation of migrant workers.The hidden words are dispersed in the WeChat group;at the level of action empowerment,it is found that male migrant workers love to comment more than female migrant workers.After1980 s,the new generation of migrant workers are more inclined to choose to speak on Weibo,news clients,Tieba,and express their opinions on the QQ group or WeChat group.Similarly,the post-80 s migrant workers record short videos and live broadcasts more prominently.The group seeks a sense of security,belonging and identity through WeChat group.Paying attention to the media use and technological empowerment status of the new generation of migrant workers is a feasible path for media research to achieve media rescue and media poverty alleviation.Taking social issues as a guide is the proper meaning of social science.On the whole,the paper discusses information-expression-action in layers,focusing on whether the new generation of migrant workers have realized information empowerment,expression empowerment and action empowerment through the use of smart phones,and explored the impact on the new generation Factors for migrant workers to achieve technological empowerment.Part of the interview content is used in the text.Although it cannot represent the overall sample,the power of technological empowerment can still be seen in the words of the new generation of migrant workers.
