In the past 20 years, the incidence of depression in China has increased 8-10 times, about 200,000 people commit suicide due to depression, each year, which seriously endangers human mental health. With easy access to Internet information, there is still a large number of people who are ignorant of depression. In the process of individual socialization, the difference in the access to living information will deprive the social rights as equal as possible. In society,it is not difficult to find that people's knowledge in a particular field is different because of the differences in educational background, information acceptance mode, attention distribution and so on.Titchner's early hypothetical "knowledge gap" is determined by people's economic status and education level, when people have a single access to information, and now the Internet is widespread, information access is almost readily available, whether this new information environment can eliminate the existing depression "knowledge gap",knowledge growth is what kind of mechanism,Based on the theory of information processing model and knowledge growth, this paper conducts a questionnaire survey on 209 people in Hebei and Shenzhen. The study found that the growth of knowledge in the network environment does not always rise in a straight line, and is not affected by the economic, educational level, occupation, marriage and other aspects of individual social development, family role, which means that the knowledge gap is not all increased, but may appear to shrink, flat or even increase or even eliminate the state.
