| In recent years,China's tourism industry,especially overseas tourism,has developed rapidly.In 2014,the number of Chinese outbound tourists has exceeded 100 million.With the rapid increase in the number of outbound tourists,some uncivilized tourism behaviors are frequently reported,which has attracted extensive attention of international public opinion.In essence,outbound tourism is a kind of cross-cultural communication activity.The media image of Chinese outbound tourists also represents Chinese nationals and national image at the micro level,which is related to China's external communication,cross-cultural communication and the construction of national soft power.News media reports on the Chinese outbound tourists is its concrete display of image,is also an important factor of its media image building,this article selects 1997-2019,the New York times and The Times of Chineseoutbound tourists reports as the research sample,using the content analysis and text analysis methods such as analysis of Chinese outbound tourists in the western mainstream news media in the media image,and from the perspective of cross-cultural communication,to explore the causes of its image formation and improvement Suggestions are put forward.It is an important issue that we must pay attention to to discuss the strategies to improve the media image of Chinese outbound tourists.In the first chapter,this paper expounds the significance of studying the media image of Chinese outbound tourists,sorts out and summarizes the relevant literature,and explains the specific research methods.The second chapter of the New York times and The Times in 1997-2019 reports of Chinese outbound tourists to a general comb,and through the report number,report issues,news tendentiousness and keywords and title,source and the analysis of five categories such as speech paraphrased to Chinese outbound tourists media image,through summing up after conclude that Chinese outbound tourists in the western mainstream media to present the media image;The third chapter discusses the reasons why the two newspapers present the media image of Chinese outbound tourists,mainly from four aspects: the internal mechanism of Chinese traditional culture,consumer culture,cross-cultural differences and lack of experience,and the deliberate construction of western media.Chapter four puts forward some Suggestions to improve the media image of Chinese outbound tourists. |
