In 2016,the U.S.presidential election,real estate developer Trump in the mainstream media in the United States criticized and questioned the victory of veteran political veteran Hilary into the White House has become a phenomenon level topics and research hot spots.From the perspective of Journalism and communication,analysis of the mainstream media to shape the image of Trump,as well as the analysis of the Trump campaign by the media strategy,media and political reasons behind the election victory,has important significance.Based on the research results of predecessors and related theory,focuses on the mainstream newspaper "New York Times" on Trump's campaign reports quantity reports several issues,evaluation tendency and typical rhetoric and other aspects of the in-depth analysis of the report,and to build the category and explain with anti intellectualism theory.This paper uses content analysis method to analyze the news reports of Trump's campaign for 18 months and uses structural week sampling method to select and analyze 6 weeks randomly.Trump found that the media image in most of the reports are showing the characteristics of vulgar,anti intellectual,and full of slander and attacks against immigrants and Muslims,women in the choice of topics,mostly in these aspects,the wording is the use of derogatory terms.Visible,the mainstream media does not want to see Trump's victory.However,Trump's victory not only confirms the decline of the traditional media agenda setting capacity,but also has more profound media and social factors.The gap between the elite and the weak brought about by globalisation has transcended the gap between party ideas,the vast majority of underclass whites,and the leaders who wish to change the status quo.This ordinary social media twitter absorbing a lot of powder and frequently issued,eliminate the implementation of identity status gap.Through anti intellectual speech and behavior,these people who have never participated in politics have come out to vote for reversals.Through this event,it is found that social media is influencing politics in a new way,while anti wise people hope to change the ruling status of the elite through this election.Mainstream media reports are driven by their interests,services,and readers,and have largely abandoned objectivity in this election.This article will carefully analyze the mainstream media coverage,image construction,new media participation in political new ways,and the rise of anti intellectualism,a comprehensive interpretation of Trump's victory and future.
