| Book purchase is the most solid foundation in the entire library service system, and paper books are an important part of the collection's document resources.Although with the advent of e-books,the purchase funds for paper books in various libraries have gradually reduced, but due to people's reading habits, paper books are still indispensable in libraries. Therefore,in the case of limited procurement funds, the library should not only purchase relatively expensive paper books to meet the readers' reading needs as much as possible, but also comprehensively consider the collection value of the books and the construction of collection resources. Therefore, how to balance the needs of readers and the quality of collections is the main problem that libraries need to consider when purchasing decisions. In order to meet the needs of readers, foreign libraries have put forward the concept of "readers' decision-making procurement" in recent years, which has attracted great attention and put into practice. However,in the domestic library science community, this concept is still at the stage of theoretical research, and there are very few real examples.Through the research and investigation of the decision-making procurement of readers at home and abroad, the author finds that this model can satisfy readers' needs more than the traditional book procurement model. However, compared with the vigorous development of foreign readers' decision-making procurement, the domestic development path is not smooth. This is because in addition to meeting the needs of readers, the book procurement of domestic university libraries also needs to be comprehensively considered according to the university's professional settings, scientific research tasks, teaching needs, and future professional development directions.Readers' decision to purchase is usually determined by the reader's click rate and traffic. This approach may cause readers to abuse their power, resulting in unreasonable allocation of book purchase funds, resulting in low overall collection quality.Only by setting scientifically and reasonably the standards for book purchases can readers make decision-making and purchases run stably in domestic libraries for a long time. Therefore,on the basis of readers' decision-making procurement, this paper proposes a book procurement model based on the random forest algorithm. This model is used to predict the books that readers decide to purchase, and comprehensively consider factorssuch as readers' demand, book purchase costs, and collection needs. On the whole, the book procurement work was optimized.Through the relevant literature summary and previous experience, the author analyzes the characteristic indicators that affect the library procurement of colleges and universities, sorts these indicators in order of importance and then screens them to obtain the determinants that affect the book procurement, and establishes a random forest model.Different indicator variables are given different weights for calculation, and the final decision result is obtained. This article has used the book procurement data of the Xiangtan University Library for nearly 10 years as experimental data, used the procurement model to make decisions, and compared it with the actual procurement and borrowing situation. It can be seen that this model can take into account readers' needs and collections' needs.Good operability. It is hoped that this research can provide reference and reference for the theory and practice of college library readers' decision-making procurement, and assist the decision-making in the actual procurement work of college libraries. |
