Applying Research On Buy-dominant E-Procurement System

Procurement is a key loop of company operation—to get right quantities of product or service with right price at the right time. The features of the procurement decides the company's efficiency , profitable ability, product quality, competence and even its existence under the competing environment.With the fast development and globalization of business and e-commence, most local corporations are introducing advanced management modes such as JIT and lean manufacture etc. A good e-procurement system is a absolutely necessary useful part for a highly perfect and efficient ERP.Compared with the traditional purchasing mode, there are many advantages for e-procurement such as high efficiency with regulation, introducing vendors and reasonable competition which are favorable for reduction of cost and human factors in procurement process. On addition, it makes that procurement audition, evaluating suppliers and purchasers very convenient.This paper describes the concept, operating mode and frame, and its system realization approaches, and its risk analyzing. At the same time, it, integrating my personal career practice, introduces and analyses the successful e-procurement system of Formosa Plastics Group which is the largest corporation in Taiwan. I do think it can provide some useful references for e-procurement alliance in large corporation.
