Highline cable plays a very important part in replenishment at sea.Operators need to know the functions of highline cable well in order to handle equipment of replenishment precisely so that mission of replenishment can be completed.However,organizing an actual training of replenishment must employ real vessels and equipment,which may increase cost of replenishment enormously.Therefore,establishing virtual simulation model of highline cable for training of replenishment at sea will enhance the effects of training in a thriftier way.Virtual simulation model of highline cable that consisted of algorithmic sub model and physical sub model aimed at lateral replenishment.Algorithmic sub model was applied to calculate some physical properties of those entities such as highline cable and hose.Physical sub model was applied to demonstrate the processes of replenishment visually and exhibit results of physical properties meanwhile.Algorithmic sub model of replenishment for solid cargo focused on highline cable,in which values and expressions of some physical properties were deduced via theories of hanging rope and structural mechanics.Algorithmic sub model of replenishment for liquid cargo concentrated on both highline cable and hose,in which algorithmic sub model of highline cable inferred physical properties using theory of structural mechanics and algorithmic sub model of hose inferred physical properties using catenary theory of hanging rope calculation.Virtual simulation model was built by Unity software that was able to not only demonstrate how entities,e.g.highline cable,changed during lateral replenishment for solid cargo and liquid cargo but also compute and output values or expressions of several physical properties in real time,which combined quantitative representation of theorical simulation model and qualitative display of visual simulation model.Outcomes of executions show that the virtual simulation model is capable of reflecting the whole process of replenishment veritably.
