The core purpose of maritime surveillance radar is to detect the target on the sea surface and make situation assessment in time.However,the existence of sea clutter limits the detection function.When sea clutter is too strong,it will seriously affect the detection performance of small targets on the sea surface.Therefore,in-depth research on sea clutter is helpful to better detect sea surface targets,which is of great significance.If we want to study the target detection under the background of sea clutter,we should first understand the characteristics of sea clutter.This paper mainly studies two kinds of empirical models of backscattering coefficient of sea clutter,namely GIT(Georgia Institute of Technology)model and NRL(Naval Research Laboratory)model,which are closely related to environmental parameters and radar system parameters.There are many models to construct the amplitude model of sea clutter.The commonly used models will introduce as follow.In order to estimate the parameters of the relevant model,researchers usually select the moment estimation and maximum likelihood method.After that the goodness-of-fit test is used to determine the optimal fitting model.In this paper,generalized exponential distribution is introduced for the first time to construct the amplitude characteristics of sea clutter.According to the correlation time characteristics of sea clutter,different correlation time models are constructed according to different resolution data,which can predict the correlation time of sea clutter.For the correlation time of radar clutter echo with high resolution,the Burr distribution and the Generalized Extreme distribution are used as the correlation time special model.For the correlation time of radar sea clutter echo with low resolution,the multi-peak Gaussian model is selected to fit.Several models have better time fitting effects on sea clutter.The in-depth study of the time-related characteristics of sea clutter can help the sea surveillance radar to better detect small targets on the sea surface and improve the ability of target detection.The simulation of sea clutter based on the study of sea clutter is an important topic in radar research field.In this paper,the common sea clutter sequences are generated by the Zero-memory nonlinear transformation method,and several kinds of non-coherent non-Gaussian color noise,envelope uniform color noise,Weibull color noise,Rayleigh color noise and log-normal color noise are simulated.On this basis,a new method of generating coherent log-normal color noise is proposed.In this paper,the small target detection technology of sea surface ships is simply explored.Hurst exponent in fractal parameter is used to distinguish pure clutter cell and contained target cell,and the measured data is selected for verification,and better detection results are obtained.
