The role of the radar is to detect a variety of targets, to get some information whichpeople want, called the useful information, but the information contained in radar transmittedsignal is reflected back is very rich, some information for those who do not want, calleduseless information, they can cause interference to useful information, in order to get clearlyand accurately useful information, it is necessary to carry out processing of radar echosignal, eliminate inhibition of those useless information. Useless information generallyincludes the receiver self generated thermal noise and radar antenna beam irradiation range ofvarious background (such as object, cloud, rain, hail, surf, birds and chaff jamming signaletc.), collectively referred to as the clutter. Through research and simulation of radar cluttersignal characteristics, can provide a theoretical basis and data support for the design ofradar clutter cancellation system, the information of the radar echo signals can bedetected more clearly, so that the role of radar can get to play the good.This paper mainly is the study of radar clutter modeling and simulation of radar targetecho wave signal detection. First of all, in the grasp of the basic concept of radarclutter, including radar clutter forming principle, according to various classification ofdifferent attributes and the power spectral density of radar clutter classification, the radarclutter amplitude distribution were made detailed analysis and simulation, and on thisbasis, for modeling clutter. Random sequence generation methods with relevant specificprobability distribution of clutter are mainly two: ZMNL method and SIRP method. Bothmethods have advantages and disadvantages, depending on the model and the requirements ofthe clutter choose to use. Secondly, studies the relationship between random sequencesi jandĪ ijthe correlation coefficient, using the method of ZMNL and SIRP of radar clutter fourdifferent amplitude distributions, modeling and simulation, and the simulation method byusing MATLAB programming, to get the final results of the simulation. Each of these radarclutter amplitude distribution is divided into incoherent and coherent both cases, thesimulation results are analyzed and verified the feasibility. Finally, using pulse compressionradar as an example, the radar signal simulation analysis has been carried out, and simulationthe thermal noise signal, the radar clutter and radar signals transmitted signal and thermalnoise signals are superimposed to form a radar echo signal, then the radar echo signalafter high-level, mixing, intermediate frequency amplification, A/D conversion after a seriesof processing, including digital quadrature demodulation, clutter cancellation, pulse compression, moving target detection, constant false alarm processing and so on, which laysthe foundation for the further realization of measurement and extraction of target parametersvalid for the radar target echo signal.
