The radar performance is affected by the radar return signal from its work environment, so radar engineers have focused on the research on clutter's modeling and simulation. Studying on statistical model of land and sea clutter has an important role in design of optimal detection algorithm and estimation of radar performance. Research on modeling and simulation of radar clutter is helpful for design of radar system, also helpful for optimizing of algorithm for signal processing, function simulation. With the development of radar technology, the new wide band radar improves a lot of radar performance. Wide band radar has become an important development direction of radar technology. However, because the distribution model of traditional narrow band radar clutter has not fully apply to wide band radar clutter, the modeling and simulation of wide band radar clutter is particularly important.Firstly, statistical charactistics of the four kind of typical statistical narrow band radar clutter models, are presented in this paper. Also two classical method of clutter simulation: Zero Memory Non-Linearity(ZMNL) and Spherically Invariant Random Processes(SIRP), are introduced. And one of them is used to simulate the four kinds of statistical distribution clutter models. With clutter simulation based on ZMNL, frist of all, the correspondences between relevant coefficients Sij and Pij are researched in this paper. Base on them, the process of simulation using ZMNL method is designed. Simulation results show that the concept is valid and correct.The generalized complex distribution model and the generalized complex K-distribution model, which are applied to simulate wide band radar clutter, are presented in this paper. Their statistical properties and the correspondences between relevant coefficients S ij and Ri j are also studied. Base on them, the process of simulation using ZMNL method is designed. Simulation results show that the concept is valid and correct. At the same time, several classic clutter models by taking different paramenters of the model are simulated, and the effects of various parameters on the model are analysed.
