The arrangement of unearthed epitaph documents has important publishing value,which is an significant part of the arrangement of ancient books.At present,the collection of epitaphs is fruitful,but its quality is uneven,which reflects the inadequacy of relevant publications in content selection and editing standards.As a large-scale epitaph arrangement Book jointly published by China Institute of cultural relics,the Palace Museum and other units,the series of The Unearthed Epitaphs in New China is a model work of ancient books arrangement.This paper takes a series of The Unearthed Epitaphs in New China as the research object,with the methods of case analysis,comparative study,collation of ancient books and the theory of exegetics,focusing on the analysis of its volume division in Jiangsu and other volumes,probes into its editing characteristics,and makes a thorough study of the rough and refined,which is of great benefit to the standardization of the arrangement of unearthed epitaphs.This paper consists of five parts:The first part is a survey of the publication of sorting out the unearthed epitaphs.Starting from the category of publication,this paper expounds the specific situation of epitaph arrangement in paper publishing and online publishing,and probes into the current situation and reasons of "the selection of topics is thick and thin,the content is lack of norms".The second part studies the editing and publishing value of The Unearthed Epitaphs in New China.Based on editing background and the current publishing situation of the series,this paper discusses the publishing value of the series in academic research,cultural relics rescue and protection.The third part studies the topic select ion planning and editing content characteristics of The Unearthed Epitaphs in New China.Using book editing knowledge,through the analysis of series topics positioning,editing concept,editing team building and other links to restore the series topics pl anning process,and then through the content selection,indexing,binding design and other aspects of further reproduction of editing work,comprehensive mining series editing features.The fourth part discusses the standard of the unearthed epitaph documents.Combined with the advantages of the edition of The Unearthed Epitaphs in New China and the editing situation of the same kind of epitaph books,we can learn from others.According to the characteristics of the epitaph s,this paper discusses the problems of the lack of standardization in the compilation of the unearthed epitaph documents from the aspects of naming,interpretation and punctuation.The fifth part lists the editing probl ems of The Unearthed Epitaphs in New China.By using the knowledge of editology,the method of collating ancient books and the theory of exegetics,this paper collates the contents of the explanatory texts in the sub volumes of Jiangsu Province,classifies and gives examples and corresponding suggestions for correction.On the whole,the editing concept of the series The Unearthed Epitaphs in New China is clear,and all aspects of the editing activities are distinctive.While focusing on editing and proofre ading quality,it also implements the protection of epitaph materials,providing a good model for the editing and publishing of unearthed documents.
