Research On "Going Global" Of Chinese Theme Books

The Chinese theme books "going out" is an intrinsic requirement for demonstrating China's development achievements,shaping the country's image,and building a nation's right to speak.It is also an external need to develop the publishing market.Comprehensive research on the Chinese theme books "going out" is an important publishing topic.This article collects the literature related to Chinese theme books,organizes and analyzes the relevant data.Taking the Chinese theme books funded by the the "China Classics International" over the years as a sample,using literature research,case analysis and data analysis methods,a comprehensive study of the books "going out" was conducted.The point of view held in this article is that the “going out” of Chinese theme books began in the early years of the founding of the People's Republic of China,and has gone through three stages in the 70-year period: before the reform and opening up,it was in the early stage,after the reform and opening up,it entered the development stage,after 2004,there was a climax with the support of national policies.This article sorts out the national policies that support Chinese theme books,and collects and organizes the selection of Chinese theme books funded by the "China Classics International" over the years as samples for analysis.The content of Chinese theme books includesfour aspects: propagating Chinese ideas,explaining Chinese politics,showing Chinese achievements,and introducing China's national conditions.There are three ways for Chinese theme books to "going out" : "domestic publishing,foreign distribution","sino-foreign cooperative publishing" and "foreign publishing".This article analyzes the three paths with typical cases.By digging and sorting out the data on the overseas distribution and collection of Chinese theme books,this article makes a preliminary investigation on the acceptance status of Chinese theme books abroad,and to propose optimization strategies to improve the situation overseas for Chinese theme books.Based on the above research,this article discusses the importance of the Chinese theme books "going global" for building a new national image and enhancing the national cultural soft power.Finally,in the concluding part,this article looks forward to the development trend of the Chinese theme books "going global".
