In recent years, there has been a wave of users forwarding lucky symbols in cyberspace and resorting to wishing for good luck. From the perspective of Huizinga's The Play Element in Culture and the research related to "luck",this research integrates text analysis and case study methods, focusing on the phenomenon of seeking good luck in cyberspace. This research examines the three aspects of phenomenon, including the evolution of the lucky symbols, action strategy, and the cultural meaning. The discussion of this phenomenon broadens the boundaries of the theory named The Play Element in C ulture and "luck" research, and provides a new entry point for the academic community to understand people's psychological state and survival situation. The study found that in terms of symbolic representation, the self-media can rely on traditional myths or create "lucky" narratives to highlight the good luck attributes of people or things to construct lucky symbols. At the same time, the self-media will compete with each other for the interpretation of the lucky symbol. In the course of action development, some companies have directly linked lucky symbols to material interests. This strategy has severely narrowed the meaning of "luck".Seeking for good luck has dual attributes that are mutually apparent. On the one hand, cyber luck is a serious and standardized action, based on a certain degree of utilitarianity, and has a set process;on the other hand, participant actions have the characteristics of games, parody is an important discourse strategy. The consciousness of pretending to believe is always with us.In the pursuit of good operation of Cyberspace, the cultural connotation of the concept of "luck" has been extended, and it is different in different situations.First, individuals who perceive agency panic attempt to avoid accidents and structural risks in daily life by participating in the pursuit of luck to seek spiritual comfort."Luck"means uncertainty in life, and being seen as an unstable and uncontrollable external factor, people regard good luck as a practical belief system.Second, users participate in actions in an attempt to get rid of the confusion state of continuous confusion or complete specific leap" goals. In both scenarios, people view luck as an internal attribute. But the difference is that when people are in a persistent state of confusion, the basic logic between their perceived effort and reward is deconstructed. The admiration of luck has become an effective solution to cover social inequality, containing and resolving social conflicts. When people try to complete the specific"leap" goal, the concept of "luck" reflects a very strong utilitarian meaning, and this action is conducive to the user to achieve the goal through the highest cost-benefit ratio. Therefore, the game' spirit also faces the threat of extinction.
