Media and Culture or Media and Society has always been the favorite subject of researchers.According to the existing conclusion and established theoretical position of former researchers, the emergence of Cyberspace, who comes with so many exceptional and exciting traits, could be unprecedentedly meaningful to human being. It can be observed that the development of media picked up the pace of the evolution of human culture. The rising of Sub-culture vogue in the twentieth century should be grateful for the blowout-style development of mass media concerning the chance brought up by it. Sub-culture,gradually,turns out to be in the spotlight amid the torrent of popular culture, which comes along with the danger of commercialization. While the surprising Sub-cultures becomes familiar to the mass in the twentieth century thanks to the mass media, the "Sub-culture" is becoming more and more fashionable,so as to be consumable to the mass. Media is essentially important,as for any branch of culture. However, mass media, who is greedy for getting as much attention as possible,is obviously not fit for Sub-culture.Cyberspace,is such a convenient concept that it agreeably facilitates discussions over various communication activities based on internet. With Rich interface,non-centralization, allowing real-time interaction and the expression of multiple identities,Cyberspace, provides the richest, freest and most creative communication platform ever in the history. The significance underlying is that, human is possible to be present in triple space,so as to transcend the geographical space and historical time which are familiar to human in daily life. If the core of modern life is the performance of identity cluster, with allowing anonymous interaction,Cyberspace liberates the expression of the very private identity, and therefore the expression of the wholesome identity as well.In succession to the modernity which wakes up the national consciousness, post-modernity initiates the individual consciousness. The Cyberspace's liberation of identity expression coincides with the expansion of individual consciousness. The individual is allowed to express himself/herself,and furthermore,to find an Anderson "imagined community" in Cyberspace. Therefore, the Sub-culture,based on the individual expression or minority groups' identification,is emerging. The theoretical system concerning Cyberspace and Sub-culture is constructed so richly, broadly and thought-provokingly,quite a contrast to which is the micro-studies we have today. It is partly due to the limits of researchers, and partly due to the complexity of the subject and the difficulty in research. In order to ensure the value of the research,to define the questions to be answered, objects to be questioned, and methods to be adopted is necessary. The understanding of "culture" and "sub-culture" complies with a Semeiology and Hermeneutics perspective, which is simply for coming up with a conjecture based explanatory conclusion, rather than finding a macro theory, the latter of which is completely beyond the capacity of the researcher. The following questions,is hoped to be answered or illustrated through the intensive interviews with sub-culture members who have a identity present in Cyberspace. The questions go like this:whether it is occasional or initiative that sub-culture members create an identity for themselves in Cyberspace, and how;the identification and social communication online and offline, and whether it is inevitably and positively involving with Cyberspace as claimed;how the behaviors and social communication online and offline are coordinated and balanced, especially those come with obvious sub-culture traits.Through the intensive interviews with a middle-aged lady who takes her pet dog as a family member or even her child,a young mother who would like to share child-rearing experiences in Group,a pc game fan who wants to realize his dream of flying, and a young lady who supports her favorite idol in a practical way,it is found that:the contact established to sub-culture community in Cyberspace could be occasional and the result of an initiative search, and the motive behind is often arising from the reality space, and thus it would encourage a more stable relationship between members and sub-culture virtual community as well as other members within.Cyberspace provides a space for the identification of sub-culture groups, and the identification is usually interactive and negotiatory.Cyberspace also provides a platform for the production and proliferation of sub-culture media products,so that it boosts the promotion and development of sub-culture.In contrast to the media products in reality space, the sub-culture media products in Cyberspace is,most probably, existing as an open text, which means members of sub-culture groups could identify themselves according to their individual interpretation of certain identity and object.Similarly,by offering a space for their members to communicate,Cyberspace contributes to the mutual help within the sub-culture virtual groups and the identification to it,both of which are related to the prosperity of virtual groups in Cyberspace.Sub-culture groups could transfer the stable and close bond they obtained in Cyberspace day by day to the reality space, and admittedly,it is combined with the cautious confirm of virtual identity's presence in reality space. However, the rank system in the process of identification in Cyberspace dramatically undermines the convenience brought to sub-culture groups by itself. The multiple identification brought up by Cyberspace could take an effect to an individual's life in reality space, although it is scant considering the effect to the same individual's behavior in Cyberspace. As for the specific details,it differs with the personality of individual, the character of sub-culture and its group or community,as well as the tolerance of society, and thus it is impossible to give an definite answer.
