Research On Terry Cook's Thought Of Archive Memory

Canadian archivist Terry Cook is one of the most influential theorists in the international archives community.His macro-appraisal theory,new source concept and other ideas have been widely spread in China 's archives community.In practice,it still has a strong inspiration and reference.However,at present,there is insufficient research on Terry Cook's archival thoughts,and the research on his archival memory thoughts is blank at the level of the master thesis.At the same time,the existing academic achievements still have two problems in the depth and breadth of research:first,the research content is relatively shallow,there are many introductory results,and the depth of mining is insufficient,and second,the research vision is not broad enough,and the literature used by scholars The data is single and repetitive,and there are many repeated research results,and the breadth is not comprehensive.This article takes "Terry Cook's thoughts of archive memory" as the object of research.By translating all the foreign language documents published by Terry Cook in the international context,the development of Terry Cook's archive memory thought is first sorted out.Then summarize all the core contents of Terry Cook's memory thoughts,and explore the contents of thoughts that have not yet been discovered.Finally,the evaluation of Terry Cook's archival memory thought is analyzed,its characteristics and limitations are analyzed,and the causes and influencing factors are briefly explained.The research aim of this article is to promote the understanding and absorption of foreign archival ideology and theory by the Chinese archival community,and to provide ideological inspiration and work reference for domestic scholars and practical workers.
