Research On The University Archive Work In The Rapid Development Of Chinese Higher Education

The university archive is an important part of the national archive resources. In recent years, with the rapid development of university expansion (including upgraded and merged, integrated) and diversification of education mode, the university archive is facing complex and diversification trend, the original archive management method is being challenged, It is the time to strengthen the university archive management. On the basis of extensive collection of bibliographic materials and investigation, the author make a comprehensive analysis of archive management, meanwihle, in light of its own work experience, the author focuses on the prominent problems which the university archive management encountered, brought by the development of university. The author researches and discusses three aspects: the ownership of its fonds on the back ground of the rapid development of university expansion, the changes of some specific archive management areas (collection and use), the problems and countermeasures of the university's electronic document management.The first step of archive management is fonds classification, while the institutions is frequently changing and the functions are more complex, how to determine the ownership of the university archive? The author analyzes the classification method of the university archive fonds, and then suggests fonds traditional classification methods should be appropriately adjusted. If the campus is large, far from the university an has relative independent functions, its archive could consistitute a separate fonds. The collection and use of archives are two very active areas of archive management. Archive collection is the import, use of archive is the goal. The collection and use of university archives need to be strengthened. The author discusses the features, problems and the solutions of the collection and use of the university archive.With modern information technology development, the number of university electronic archives is rapidly increasing. The paper analysises the characteristics of the university electronic document, the management status,and then discusses the management principles and methods of university electronic document.
