The new generation of peasant work is a generation that has been replaced within the peasant-worker group,and is now in a transition period of identity and positioning.Urban and rural dual household registration is made into an identity barrier,which affects their role reconstruction and adaptation after entering the city,and thus faces a double marginalized identity crisis.Previous studies have shown that the use of social media,especially WeChat,has had a profound impact on the social interaction and self-perception of the new generation of migrant workers.So,will the use of WeChat also have a profound impact on its identity?This is the core issue of this article.To this end,this article uses an empirical research method to conduct a questionnaire survey of 385 new-generation migrant workers who are natives of L Town,Nanyang City,Henan Province,and selects 15 of them for in-depth interviews.The study found that the use of WeChat interactive social interaction positively affects the identity of the new generation of migrant workers and farmers(r=0.401**,p=0.001<0.01),and the demand for WeChat information acquisition is positively related to their citizenship(r=0.506**,p=0.000<0.01).In addition,the social network of the new generation of migrant workers in WeChat mainly uses kinship,geography and other primary social networks to provide psychological comfort and emotional support for the construction of their identity;WeChat's interpersonal relationships are difficult to expand and maintain secondary social networks,which cannot provide them with Identity provides relational capital;WeChat has become an important channel for the new generation of migrant workers to obtain information,providing them with the opportunity to find a new subject position to adapt to the development of the city.
