The Research On Operation Mechanism Of "City's Study"

With the rapid development of the economy and social progress in recent years,people's increasing spiritual needs make them expect better public cultural services.Facing the development of the times and the changes of readers' requirement,many public libraries try to innovate and provide better service for readers.“City's Study” is one of the new-style public reading spaces which is explored by public libraries over the years.“City's Study” is popular among the readers for the reasons that it has novel forms,rich in functions,elegant environment and so on.Under such circumstances,the study of “City's Study” is highly necessary.This paper conducts comprehensive research mainly from the macro and micro perspectives.Firstly,the paper teases out the origin of “City's Study”,introduces the definition,concludes the theoretical basis as well as the current situation of “City's Study”,along with the existing problems.On this basis,the paper combines the literature research and the network research refer to the practice of “City's Study”nationwide,and summarizes the operation mechanism of which in four aspects: site selection,funds,management and services.In addition,the paper does a case study of“Home Study” based on the field research upon “Home Study” in Jiading district,Shanghai,It introduces the background,current situation,operation mechanism of“Home Study” in detail.Thorough research was made through field observation and interview aims at its service outcome.The paper summarizes the features and problems of Jiading's “Home Study” and provides solutions for the further development of China's “City's Study”.
