A Study On Cover Character Report Of China Youth In The Past 40 Years Of Reform And Opening-Up

2018 is the fortieth anniversary of China's reform and opening-up.China's society has undergone tremendous changes,which is a node of epochal significance.As the oldest magazine in mainland China,China Youth has witnessed social changes in the past 40 years.This paper mainly studies the cover story of China Youth in the past 40 years of reform and opening up,hoping to summarize the features and value construction of cover story of China Youth.In this paper,quantitative and qualitative research methods are used to study the cover story of China Youth.160 cover story stories are sampled by equidistant sampling method.Then,the cover characters are coded according to gender,nationality,educational background,occupation,professional background and political features.The study finds that China Youth mainly chooses the focus of major events,the role models in ordinary life and the public figures from "flat" to "round" as cover characters to report.In terms of the image of cover characters,in the early stage of reform and opening-up,we mainly shape the elite of the times who advocate idealism,in the period of deepening economic system reform,we mainly shape the inspirational example of arduous struggle,and in the period of globalization,we focus on shaping the youth idols with diversified values.The features of the cover character report of China Youth are mainly embodied in four aspects: paying close attention to the changes of the audience's needs;combining pictures and texts to highlight the visual effect;focusing on the communication character report and in-depth report to enhance the reading experience;and paying attention to the combination of objectivity and aesthetics.The value construction of cover story is mainly manifested in three aspects: firm political orientation and ideal and belief,active social responsibility,cultivation of independent personality,and realization of self-worth.
