Research On Communication Effects Of Current Political Data Journalism Based On Cognition Mediated Model

The origins of data journalism and practice come from the United Kingdom and the United States.Since 2011,China's data journalism has flourished,and current political data news has become more popular among media organizations.Some researchers believe that the popularity of data journalism is because its visualized information maps are better,but there are not many empirical studies on related aspects.Therefore,since human contact and use of media content is an information processing process,and a political data news can be divided into traditional text parts and visualized graphic parts,this paper will use the cognitive mediation theory in news learning theory.The dual coding theory in cognitive psychology studies the dissemination effect of current political data news.Because the reader's tendency before media contact will affect the communication effect,it can be divided into three levels:cognition,emotion and behavior.The first two levels of communication effect are generated before the third level,while human beings are in the cognitive mediation model.Thinking activities include attention and related thinking during reading,and the reader's tendency before media contact will affect the reader's thinking interaction during reading.Furthermore,this article will take the reader's awareness of environmental pollution before reading data news as the front.The variables,from the whole of the political data news,the text part and the chart part,use the reader's attention and the related thinking as mediators to analyze the communication effect of the political data news on the cognitive level and the emotional level.It is the emotional memory of the audience after reading and the emotional attitude towards the State Council's environmental supervision and feedback work.This paper collects data through questionnaire survey.The sample is the university students and graduate students of Wuhan University(N=638).The study found that the overall communication effect of the current political data news,the higher the audience's perception of environmental pollution,the attention of the reader when reading the media content.The higher the level,the higher the level of interrelated thinking will be.In the end,the post-reading knowledge memory and the emotional attitude of the StateCouncil's environmental supervision and feedback work are in a relatively high state.After the data news is divided into the text part and the chart part,when the reader's attention and related thinking are at a certain level when reading the data news,the difference between the text part and the chart part of the data news is different from the reader's knowledge memory.Small,the effect amount is almost equal;but in terms of emotional attitude after reading,the influence of the chart part is much larger than the text part.In addition,age and gender factors have no significant effect on the final transmission effect.This paper analyzes the communication effect of the chart part and the text part of the current political data news as a whole model,but the paper does not discuss the difference of the communication effect of various forms of different visualization forms.In addition,the future research can also put the readers in contact with the political data news.Emotional attitudes are used as mediators or regulatory variables to discuss their effects on other cognitive and even behavioral effects.
