The grid simulation technology to monitor the nodes in the power grid in real time is used to maintain the normal operation of the power system.The implementation of electromagnetic transient simulation system is mainly divided into software simulation system and hardware simulation system which is based on FPGA(Field Programmable Gate Array).The software simulation system has the advantages of high flexibility,short development period and convenient debugging,but its simulation step is bigger,which can not meet the requirement of real-time.The hardware simulation system based on FPGA can realize the simulation system of small steps and the scale of the power grid is bigger,but its timing optimization is complex,the flexibility is poor and the development efficiency is very low.This paper presents an electromagnetic transient simulation system based on HLS(High-Level Synthesis)design,which not only takes into account the flexibility of software simulation,but also can realize real time small step simulation on FPGA.The system is designed with node analysis method.Lots of methods are used to optimize the timing.This system supports the floating point calculation of the resistance,capacitance,inductor series components,unidirectional winding transformers,controllable voltage and current sources and various types of switching elements.This simulation system takes into account not noly the processing time but also the resource consumption to different power components which gets a substantial increase in simulation efficiency.In this paper,the electromagnetic transient simulation system based on HLS can effectively meet the irregular characteristics of the this problem sush as high requirements of the real-time and high flexible and compared to most of the current FPGA transient simulation system,the performance of this simulation system is improved about 60%,the development cycle is significantly reduced,the secondary development efficiency improved significantly.
