Receiver is widely used in radar,satellite,guidance,communication and other fields.With the development of HPM technology,receivers are facing the threat of HPM electromagnetic environment.Traditional broadband receivers generally use limiters,filters or simple series protection of both.But this series power protection circuit has the following shortcomings: once the protection function is started,the receiver circuit in the whole working frequency band is in the state of signal interruption until the external high-power signal disappears;moreover,if the protection circuit is burned down by HPM,the system function is invalid and irreversible recovery.Therefore,based on the frequency-domain selection characteristics of filters and the time-domain selection mechanism of limiters,an integrated HPM protection technology for broadband receivers is proposed.This new parallel protection circuit topology will effectively improve the reliability of the receiver system in HPM electromagnetic environment.The main contents of the paper are as follows: Firstly,the background and significance of the research are briefly introduced,as well as the research trends of strong electromagnetic pulse protection for receivers at home and abroad.Secondly,the characteristics and protection requirements of HPM pulses are analyzed,and the characteristics of several topologies are discussed separately.One of the topologies is selected to realize the circuit model and physical layout,so that it has the characteristics of frequency selective limiting and complete the overall design of integrated HPM protection circuit for broadband receivers.Finally,an integrated time domain transient simulation model of HPM protection for broadband receivers is constructed,and the characteristics of protection circuit under different HPM parameters are simulated,and the output characteristics of each channel are analyzed.The simulation results show that when a high power microwave pulse is injected into a certain working band of the receiver,the parallel integrated protection circuit topology can effectively improve the protection capability of the strong electromagnetic pulse in other bands of the receiver.Taking the protection design of S-band 3-channel integrated HPM as an example,when a channel injects HPM pulse in the band,theadjacent channel can suppress HPM pulse up to 20 dB and 40 dB respectively,which improves the reliability of the whole receiver.
