The space traveling wave tube is an importment electronic device in the microwave electric vacuum industry,and is widely used as a core component in radar,satellite and other equipments.While pursuing the high performance,as a special precision device,there are many types of TWT,involving hundreds of materials.The manufacturing process is complex,and needing extremely high precision requirements.When Creating a traveling-wave tube from concept to finished product,it enerally needs to go through parts design,parts processing,and parts assembly and so on.Unfortunately,this process is still manual,which is quite cumbersome,time-consuming and labor-intensive and obviously constrained the development of the industry.In recent years,with the development of digital technology,those problems above maybe solved by applying digital design and manufacturing technology in the field of traveling wave tube industry,realizing parts and the whole tube digital designing,performance digital simulation,digital processing and manufacturing,the whole tube digital test and so on which will greatly shorten the development and production cycle and ensure the performance of the pipe.However,the digital technology has not been applied in the traveling wave tube industry and it can not solve various difficulties at present and that requires some in-depth research.Therefore,we should keep up with the trend of the world and apply digital technology to traveling wave tube design and manufacturing field,explore the digital realization of TWT and parts design,processing and assembly,reduce excessive human intervention in each link,so that improve work efficiency and promote traveling wave tube design and manufacture industry.This paper mainly combines SolidWorks software series with the actual design and manufacturing process of the traveling wave tube industry to study and realize the digital design and manufacture of traveling wave tube,includes designation,procession and assembly.The main work contents are summarized as follows:1.Study the digital realization method of the design of traveling wave tube parts.Firstly,based on SolidWorks and Excel software,the parametric modeling of traveling wave tube parts is realized,and the two softwares are also secondary developed to realize digital updating of models and drawings.At the same time,the linkage of model files and drawing files of SolidWorks parts is studied.The method,that is,when the size of the model file of the traveling wave tube part is changed,the corresponding drawing file is also updated.2.The digital realization method of processing and manufacturing of traveling wave tube parts is studied,mainly based on CAMWorks software to realize the digital processing of TWT.CAMWorks is mainly for computer-aided processing and manufacturing.Therefore,it is mainly based on CAMWorks and secondary development to realize digitally virtual processing of traveling wave tube parts,simulating the real processing process,automatically generating CNC machine tool processing plan and processing code,so that improving processing efficiency and products reliability.3.The digital realization method of assembly traveling wave tube parts and whole tubes is studied.Based on SolidWorks Composer to realize digital virtual assembly of those parts,we realized the complete actual assembly process of traveling wave tubes from parts to components and to whole tubes.Also,we studied the specific assembly process of the parts in the assembly process,clarified the assembly details,added the assembly process requirements information,provided vivid and accurate reference for the actual assembly so that improved the assembly efficiency.
