Audiobooks emerged in the United States in the 1930 s.Because of the limited technology and high production cost,they did not thrive in the publishing market.At the same time,audiobooks were used for public welfare at that time.The public did not have a complete understanding of audiobooks.At that time,audiobooks were tailored to meet the spiritual and cultural needs of the visually impaired.Therefore,audiobooks have not been popularized.After decades of development,some progress has been made in technology,production and other aspects.The public has a deeper understanding of audio books.Audio books begin to appear in people's lives on a large scale.People begin to accept audio books.The audiences gradually increase.Audio books market has been expanded.With the popularity of digital technology and the Internet,the audiobook market has risen rapidly.Major publishers in the United States have set up audiobook production companies to enter the audiobook market.Technological progress is a key factor in the development of audiobooks.On the one hand,it improves the quality of audiobooks and better meets the needs of consumers.On the other hand,the popularity of mobile devices such as mobile phones,as well as the ubiquitous wireless network and mobile Internet,people's living habits and reading habits begin to change,and people gradually become accustomed to mobile phones or computers.Mobile terminal receives information.Audio books just meet the need of fast access to information.Therefore,Audio books have developed rapidly in recent years.The emergence of audio books has changed people's way of acquiring knowledge from traditional "reading" to "listening to books".This new way of reading conforms to the general trend of modern social development,meets people's spiritual and cultural needs,and conforms to the current market environment of audio books.The audiobook market in the United States has matured after nearly 100 years of development.It has a perfect system in publishing mode and operation strategy,which is worthy of our country to learn from.At present,the development of audio books in China is still in its infancy,and there are problems and shortcomings in all aspects.Based on this,combined with the successful cases of American Audio Books Publishing Company,this paper provides relevant experience summary for the production and market development of Audio Books in China.Based on the analysis of the development of American audiobooks and the successful cases of related audiobooks companies,this paper summarizes the publishing mode and operation strategy of American audiobooks,and combines them with the actual situation of our country to provide reference for the long-term development of Chinese audiobooks.
