Under the Internet environment,social media has become one of the important ways for libraries to promote resources and deepen services.Libraries can use social media to shape library image,promote library resources and optimize library services.With the content value becoming more and more important in the core value of network media,the content construction of social media should be paid more attention by libraries.The content construction of social media in University Libraries refers to the transmission of valuable,readable and interactive content to users through texts,pictures and videos,with the main service object of University Library users,with the help of social media,with the purpose of attracting users to actively use library resources and services and enhancing users' attention and identity to the library.This research investigates the current situation of the content construction of social media in University Libraries in China by means of sampling survey and network survey.The contents of the survey include the opening situation,operation situation,content types and content forms.It is found that the content construction level of different social media in university libraries is quite different at present.It is also found that the main problems in the content construction of social media in university libraries are imperfect platform operation,insufficient user attention and interaction,serious homogenization of content and form,low update frequency and lack of deep content construction.This paper investigates the needs and preferences of university library users of different identities,educational backgrounds,ages and genders for the content construction of social media in university libraries by means of questionnaires,and analyses the needs of users in the aspects of social media selection,content type,content form,update frequency,expression style and length.Based on the preliminary investigation and analysis,this paper probes into the construction principles of the content construction mode of social media in University Libraries and the construction elements including the construction subject,service object,service method and content.It puts forward the general framework of the content construction mode of social media in University libraries,including target layer,support layer,service layer,application layer and evaluation layer.It also puts forward the organizational structure includes four modules: University library,University Library users,social media platform and content system construction.This paper also discusses the internal operation rules of the model and the workflow of social media content construction in University libraries.Aiming at the content construction mode of social media in University libraries,this paper puts forward the strategies of investigating users' needs and library conditions from the angle of investigating actual conditions.From the perspective of clear objectives and work contents,this paper puts forward strategies for formulating content construction objectives and work norms,building specialized posts and defining work responsibilities.From the perspective of deepening content and activating form,this paper puts forward the types,levels and diversified content forms of social media content construction in University libraries.From the perspective of platform construction and effectiveness evaluation,this paper puts forward strategies for selecting and collaborating social platforms and optimizing content evaluation index system.This paper is expected to provide reference for the follow-up research and practical work of the content construction of social media in University libraries.
