University Library Social Service Function

The United States has a highly developed library career,the rule of law in therelative system system,improve the university library as an important part ofeducation and scientific research services in the unit at the same time,but also bear thenecessary social services functions.Library Law of the level of the United States thesame protection and support of social services of the University Library,StateLibrary,Library Law from the federal government level,to France,to the laws of otherspecificity,are related to the university library community the content of theservice.Meanwhile,the University Library has also developed the corresponding rulesand regulations to carry out the forms,content-rich social service activities to enrichthe scientific and cultural needs of the public,to achieve the overall improvement ofthe quality of citizens,and adapt to trends in society and the development of the times.Our library career started late,the rule of law is relatively backward,has not yetintroduced a special library law,the lack of the need to protect the librarycause.Similarly,the social services of the University Library is also slow todevelop,although some colleges and universities also implemented a social service,butthe service is relatively limited,opening hours,restrictions on social readers.UniversityLibrary in China in building a learning society and the era of information necessary tothe wider and even more levels open to the community.The first U.S. university library and social services development,the set from theobject,the form of services, and services specific discussion summarizes thecharacteristics of its services.Subsequent analysis from the three aspects of historicalreasons,the legal basis and driven by the interests of the social basis of the socialservices of the University Library.Pointed out that the present stage the need for socialservices in University Library,and to analyze the status of the social services and theproblems to explore the advantages of a university library to carry out socialservices,the necessary measures to carry out social services.
