With the evolution of information technology,the size of transistors has been continuously shrinking.This results in an increase in current leakage and power leakage,which suggests that the traditional CMOS transistor device is not suitable for future circuit design.Therefore,Dr.Hu Zhengming from Taiwan conceived of a FinFET device,similar to fin by shape,which is much better than the traditional transistor in size and design and has relatively low current and power leakage.Power consumption and operating speed are important index to measure the performance of a circuit.However,as the 2 index cannot be both optimized at the same time,we have to make some trade-offs in the design of a circuit.With the emergence of intelligent digital products,how to control power consumption has become an important topic in the industry.Ultra-threshold-circuit can operate at a lower voltage than the standard circuit and at a higher voltage than each device's threshold.This balances the power consumption and speed of the device,which makes the concept of high speed and low power consumption a possibility.This paper briefly introduces the basic gate circuits,compares the performances between FinFET and conventional CMOS devices and verifies through a walk of how power is consumed in a circuit that to lower the supply voltage is an important way to reduce the power consumption.Then followed by an introduction of the common logic structure and a comparison of advantage and disadvantage among different circuits built on these logic structures through software simulation,the paper demonstrates that the performance of a circuit can be improved through design based on the use of combination of different logic structures.Through the above research,we propose two types of new sequential trigger circuits based on FinFET,whose performance has been proven through software simulation.
