Compared with traditional electronic NoC,hybrid optical-electronic NoC takes full advantage of optical and electrical links,therfore having advantages in high bandwidth,low latency and low power consumption.However,the buffering of optical signals is difficult to achieve.The optical transmission paths must be reserved through the electrical interconnection network.When the network communication load is large,the optical link reservation efficiency and fairness will seriously affect the quality of hybrid optical-electronic NoC.Therefore,it is of great importance to research the optical network communication process for communication quality assurance.On the basis of analysing the interconnection characteristics of electronic and optical,the paper chooses the HOEM optical-electronic NoC as research object.HOEM forwards long-distance and high-traffic packets through optical layer,and electronic layer is used to transmit circuit control signals and low-traffic packets.In order to improve the optical link reservation success rate and overall network performance,an adaptive routing algorithm based on congestion information was proposed.Based on the optical network resource competition model of HOEM,a flow control mechanism oriented to QoS guarantee is designed.By controlling the transmission of link reservation messages of network nodes,the fairness of optical network bandwidth resource allocation is guaranteed.This paper proposes a hybrid router architecture that supports circuit switching and wormhole switching at the same time,and provides high priority services to electronic control signals.Finally,the hybrid router can achieve the purpose of processing the electronic control signal and the small-flow data packet simultaneously.Based on the existing NoC simulator JADE,this paper added a new topological structure and communication exchange mechanism to build a hybrid optical-electronic NoC environment that supports artificial synthesized communication load simulation.Take the 8 × 8 topology as example,the HOEM with optimized circuit reservation mechanism improves throughput by 75% and decrease the transmission delay by 67% under saturated load situation.Compared with the original network,the HOEM with QoS traffic control mechanism reduces the average standard deviation of service bandwidth by 80% under the hotspot traffic model.
