Research On Ethical Decision Making Model In Intercultural News Reporting

With the development of media technology,there is no doubt that international news reporting are becoming more and more normalized.Therefore the new ethical issues which caused by reporting have become common concern for journalists both at home and abroad.Due to the ethical dilemma in journalism,most of researchers tend to analyze the types and causes of journalistic ethical problems in the traditional way.This paper try to start form the approach of methods,discussing the characteristics and application value of the model of news ethical decision making.On the basis of this discussion,the model is reconstructed in intercultural dimension so that it can adapt to the cross-cultural shift of news reporting and provide journalists with tools to solve ethical dilemmas.The paper found the five kinds of foreign common news ethical decision making models,such as“The Porter Box”,“The Bok Model”,“Systematic Moral Analysis”,“Kidder's Ethical Decision-Making Checklist”and“Integrated Justification Model ”have the common and special characteristics in situation ? value ? principles and decision.By using the comparative analysis,it can outline the general framework of news ethical decision making model.The core of models research is about the exploration of value and principle.On this basis,it is an important innovation of this paper to reconstruct the mode of ethical decision making with intercultural adaptability from the perspective of integrating the values and principles with globalization and intercultural elements.Case study is an important research method in this paper.By using the reconstructed model,four types of typical ethical issues in intercultural reporting are analyzed to test the applicability of the model so as to enhance the explanatory power of it.With the development of theory and application of new ethical decision making,it still need further correction existing model.We may need to discuss more values and principles with the universality,promote the construction of digital ethics theory and take more concern in new media dimension.By improving the model,it can help journalist to solve the ethical dilemma much better.
