In the underwater acoustic sensor network, the nodes are sparsely deployed, the underwater acoustic link has a long delay and a high probability of interruption. As a result, the underwater acoustic network is intermittently connected, the neighbor relationship of the network nodes is unstable, and the network topology has high dynamics. All these characteristics bring challenges to the design of underwater acoustic network protocol. Many access methods and networking protocols successfully applied in terrestrial wireless networks cannot be directly applied to underwater acoustic networks. This paper focuses on routing protocols in underwater acoustic networks. It is difficult for underwater nodes to obtain three-dimensional position information, but depth information is easier to obtain. Therefore, there is a type of routing protocol that uses depth information to provide routing for data packets to be transmitted to the water surface. In addition, the energy of underwater nodes is limited,so the design of routing protocol should focus on the network energy consumption when forwarding data. Therefore, this paper studies the routing protocol based on depth information for the application scenario of data collection for large packet transmission, aiming at reducing network energy consumption and extending network life cycle. We note that the distance between each pair of connected nodes is not always the limit distance of the underwater acoustic signal transmission at a specific power,so the specific transmission power has a certain redundancy, and the energy waste caused by this part of the redundancy will increase with the increase of packet length.Based on the existing DepthBased Routing Protocol(DBR),this paper proposes a Detection-Based Power Control Routing Protocol(DBPCR),which uses the detection mechanism to adjust transmission power. The main idea of DBPCR is to send a probe packet before sending a data packet, and then select the next hop and adjust the transmission power according to the detection result, and then send the data packet. This not only reduces energy consumption, but also ensures that the next hop is currently reachable.Furthermore, for the problems of end-to-end delay, network energy balance and topology void in DBPCR,the node sorting mechanism of the existing Energy-Efficient Depth-Based Routing protocol(EEDBR)and the backtracking method is introduced to further improve DBPCR.In order to evaluate the performance of the DBPCR proposed in this paper,a large number of simulation comparison experiments were carried out in the uan module of NS3.The results show that the comprehensive performance of the DBPCR and its improved version is better than DBR and EEDBR in the data collection application scenario of large data packet transmission.
