Discourse Analysis Of Visualized Reporting On Big Data News About Environmental Risk

Data visualization is one of the information presentation methods in the image society.It effectively anchors and accurately describes environmental risks under the field of environmental pollution as the reality,visualization as the means of representation,and big data as the technical support.This paper hopes to sort out the production framework of environmental risk from the three dimensions of visual discourse,visual rhetoric and visual narrative,and constructs a three-dimensional map of environmental risk visualization process,so it will help to provide some reference for the moder communication of environmental risk in China.Based on the theory of rhetorical structure theory(RST)in linguistics,this paper will extract the visual logic framework of environmental risk reports in Netease's “number reading” column by text analysis and discourse analysis.In order to explain the visual rhetoric and visual narrative relationship of environmental risks,this paper selects some representative data journals at home and abroad.Among them,the visual rhetoric focuses on the authoritative rhetoric of data sources and the relationship rhetoric between data graphics.At the same time,the visual narrative analyzes the spatial narrative process generated by environmental risk issues and the interactive narrative effect in risk communication.Comprehensive analysis shows that environmental risk reports based on data journals have an interpretable visual discourse structure.However,due to the influence of data source error,visual rhetoric and unconsciousness of narrative,data news reports also have value bias problems such as obscuration,weakening and enlargement of environmental risks,which is contrary to the objective requirements of news dissemination.Therefore,under the premise that the systematic bias of communication exists,the visual report of environmental risk should strive to correct the detailed error,so that risk communication is at the balance between rational prediction and perceptual appeal.
