Research On Environmental News Of Mainstream Media From The Perspective Of Risk Society

Nowadays, environmental protection has became a focus of Chinese social concern, especially for the general public in social transition period. The environmental problems derived from pollution of the environment and the increasingly serious ecological crisis of human society. The environmental news was born in American and entered in China after reforming and opening. The environmental news report began to appear in People’s Daily since the 1980 s, after thirty years of development, environmental news reports of our national mainstream media still exist many problems and lack of theoretical direction.Risk is the core of environmental news theory. Risk theory stemed from Risk Society of Ulrich Beck in 1980 s and was widely used for environmental news,and thus formed a complete set of theory system.Based on the theory of Beck, this paper select environmental news of People’s Daily as the object of study, finding the problems, studying solutions with the theory of risk society and eliminating risks.The introduction parts of this paper make a brief statement about the origin and meaning of this study, listing the studys of home and abroad on environmental news and risk theory, making a simple explanation for relative terms in this paper.In content, this paper mainly consists of three parts. The first part selects environmental news of People’s Daily in 2014 as the object of study, seeking problems on columns,agenda,style,message source, attribute, and so on. The second part introduces the risk theory and study the role of mainstream media on environmental news reports in risky society. The third part analyses the problems and weak points of People’s Daily on environmental news reports, putting forward the right direction of development and the elements should have.
