Along with the industrialization development, the sudden environmental pollution accident sometimes occurs. In order to avoid or reduce the occurrence of such event, or reduce the degree of harm to the environment and the affected area, it's very essential to give the risk assessment of production and transportation of the projects, storage of toxic chemicals, enterprises of the dangerous such as the flammable and explosive things, as well as the business of large-scale water projects.Currently, environmental risk assessments which are the emerging field of the environment protection. On one hand, it is the birth of the urgency of environmental protection required, on the other hand, it is also the inevitable result of the environmental scientific development. GIS can provide rapid response decision-making ability for environmental risk assessment. It can be used for a map of earthquakes and floods, hurricanes and bad weather modeling, oil accident planning, toxic gas diffusion modeling and so on which has great significance for disaster reduction and disaster prevention work. This paper first time applied the GIS theory in the accidental environmental risk study of oil field. Based on the detailed identification of the sources of oil field accidental risk, we can make geographic information systems and environmental pollution dispersion a model integration and set up a visual early warning platform for oil field accident risk disasters. We took the commonly used model of environmental risk assessment as an example and made it modular, then numerical calculated through the procedure. Using the combinated techniques of GIS and environmental models, we took the Visual Basic which was a object-oriented programming language as a tool of the development, and the Mapobjects which was a component-technology-based map control as a platform of the development. We finally achieved tightly integrated of environmental model and GIS by data exchange through the files. The system achieved concentration calculating of forecast points, and initial achieved the visualized expressions of the the atmospheric environmental risk prediction results on the GIS platform. It provided technical support of atmospheric environmental risk assessment. This paper took the case of Jilin oilfield and constructed a visual warning system of oilfield accidental environmental risks. The system can reflect the types, scopes and time of the accident effects quickly and accurately, and give the emergency responses, as well as minimize the environmental impacts of the oil field accident risks. It has great significance and application value to oilfield production safety, accident and rescue and environmental protection.
