Under the background of 5G communication technology,China's communication equipment manufacturing industry has developed rapidly.It has switched from importing foreign equipment and technology to exporting products and technologies to developed countries,and has begun to participate in the formulation of industry standard rules.In the process of upgrading the technology of China's communication equipment manufacturing industry,the role played by independent innovation and technology introduction has important reference significance for the development of other high-tech industries.Based on the theory of “Late-developing Advantage Theory”,“Learning by Doing” and “Flying Geese Paradigm”,this paper not only explores the mechanism of independent innovation and technology introduction in industrial technology upgrading,but also affects China's communication equipment manufacturing industry.The factors of technological upgrading have been empirically tested.The specific contents are as follows:First of all,it sorts out the existing literature and provides a theoretical basis for revealing the successful path of technology upgrade in China's equipment manufacturing industry.Secondly,it elaborates the development history of China's communication equipment manufacturing industry in three stages,and then outlines its scale and technical level.Again,based on the 1995-2016 Chinese communications equipment manufacturing data,the Solow residual method is used to calculate the total factor productivity(TFP)to measure the level of industrial technology upgrade;using the vector autoregressive(VAR)model to explore the whole relationship between the total factor productivity(TFP)growth rate,R&D expenditures,technology introduction costs,and patent applications.The empirical research shows that:(1)China's communication equipment manufacturing industry technology level shows a rising trend;(2)independent innovation,technology introduction has a time difference in the role of industrial technology upgrade;(3)The short-term effect of technology introduction on industrial technology upgrade is positive.The short-term effects of R&D investment and patent application on industrial technology upgrade are not significant.R&D investment and patent application have a long-term positive effect on industrial technology upgrade.Therefore,improving independent innovation capability is the fundamental way to upgrade industrial technology.Finally,combined with the experience of developing communication industry in Europe and the United States,it proposes to continue to increase technology introduction from both the government and enterprise perspectives,and to promote policy recommendations for industrial independent innovation strategies. |
