After decades of development, especially with the help of the ever-developing Internet technology,Chinese fan culture has shown many variations and extensions, especially in terms of group and productivity, and its influence is more than ever before. In 2018,two popular online idol reality shows "Idol Practitioners" and "Creation 101" received unprecedented social attention and discussion, which further confirmed that the fan community and fan culture in the process of continuous evolution showed a variety of new features to be re-recognized and investigated. This paper divides the development of Chinese fan culture into three stages, namely, the TV era,the early Internet era and the mobile Internet era,by "dating" the Internet environment in China since the new century. The most representative "Super Girls" and "Creation 101" and "Idol Practitioners" which were the most popular and topical in 2008 were selected as the main research cases. The main conclusions of this paper include: fan culture is essentially a media culture, fan groups can not exist independently of the mass media, and the relationship between fans and idols is a communication relationship. On this basis, this paper focuses on the analysis of the new features of fan culture in the mobile Internet media environment, including the promotion of the subjectivity of the fan group, the popularization of the popular words of the fan group, and the influence of the fans on content production and commercial capital. On this basis,it further extends the process of how fan culture, originally a minority culture, merged into popular culture. This paper also further reflects on whether fan culture is a form of "carnival".John Fiske's theory of mass culture and Bakhtin's theory of Carnival are the main theoretical sources in the process of writing this article.
