This paper examines film and television media in China with the view of the Mass Culture, and then try to inquiry into the enssce of the Masss Culture. Firstly,the paper distinguished the Mass Culture from three different cultures in the history. They have something in the same but different. The aim of tha Mass Culture is to be sold. So it follows the rule of the market economy. Then this paper inquiried into the conclift and interaction between the Elite Culture and the Mass culture. It belifes that nowartodays the Mass Culture is risning and the Elite Culture is fading away. So that the boundary between them is tending in misty.The Elite Culture is melting into the Mass Culture.Then, this paper takes the film and television media as the center subject, studis into two kinds of cultural time construct, namely" the cultural time of past " and " the cultural time of present". It discusses their essences. This paper studis a few mode of productions of the media product. There are four kinds of sffscts that are coused by the media. The paper have study all of them. Finally, this paper prospects the futuer of the Mass Culture from the new cultural system of China.
