This thesis will has a compendious analysis on the effect of mass media to culture, meanwhile has a further survey to the peculiar culture phenomenon which mass communication times has梞ass culture. The whole thesis is divided into four chapters. Chapter one has the analysis on the culture of pre-mass communication times, especially focuses on the effect of the flux around human being's media to the authority of culture. During the communication history of mankind, the communication method has changed when wordage appears since it made voice became the prolonged letter, the promotion of printing technology led the quantity and kinds of text in a booming increasing level. But before the popularity of the media , the culture and it's copies are scarce because of the limitation on economy and technology level, which had led to a domination in the culture authority for a long term.Various effects appear which the mass communication has showed up. One of the effects to culture is to be reflected through the effect to human and society. The first section of chapter two states the possibility that culture democratization transferred into humanization through the receipt's education which made the upper intelligentsia transferring to the average. The result is made the culture rate weaker. Section two analyses how media effects culture through society. 1 ? Media provides "climate" for culture's development, so the peculiar culture was produced and communication environment was formed .2., The identity of culture receipt was formed by the media through personal-identification's confirmation and the society's combination. Meanwhile, media can consolidate the society environment of culture communication through the method of reducing the pressure on the society problemsMass culture is the peculiar product under the effect of culture of the mass media. In chapter 3 and chapter 4,there has a stress on the reason and characteristic of mass culture. There has the background and human's various understanding ofmass culture. Section 2 has the sample introduction of the reason why the mass culture occurred. The key factor is the socialization and labelization, which the culture has itself. Another factor is communication media became more popularization and the commodity idea has soaked into the media. The chapter 4 has analyzed the characteristics of the mature mass culture by the present angle. The occurrence of mass culture has developed the upper-class into various directions. It made the meaning world more richness. But the mass culture loses it's own style during the course of produclization and industrialization, results in the platnization and fashionable consuming behavior. Finally, it goes into the way of losing. So the mass culture dissipates the word occurrence, but never brought a brand new signification; the personal simulacrum has masked the process of standard.
