A Review Of The Global Times Under The Theory Of Cultural Hegemony

At present,the society is in a transitional period.The acceleration of modernization and the intensification of stratum differentiation are synchronized.After the rise of the Internet,traditional media have been challenged by the network media,and have opened the way of technological upgrading.Under the technological empowerment of new media,the people for the first time have full opportunities to express themselves,and also promote the network resistance to enter a high incidence period.In recent years,with the advent of the "post-truth" era,false news began to appear frequently in the field of public opinion,and populist discourse also revived.In the new era,in order to consolidate the dominant position of mainstream ideology in the field of social thought,the official propaganda strategy has changed from emphasizing "news propaganda" to emphasizing " guidance of public opinion".This change is in line with Gramsci's thought of cultural hegemony,that is,to integrate the discourse resources of various groups through cultural union,so that the public can spontaneously follow the steps of the mainstream ideology,and jointly safeguard the long-term stability of the national society.Therefore,from the perspective of Gramsci's cultural hegemony,this study chooses "Shan Renping" column of Global Times as the research object,and combines case studies,content analysis and discourse analysis to explore how the newspaper maintains its ideological security through news commentary.A total of 342 research samples were selected from comments published in the column of Shan Renping from early July 2012 to late June2018.This paper is mainly divided into six parts,the first part is an introduction,mainly discussing the origin and ideas of the study;the second part is a social situation analysis,trying to explore the background of the times,the technical environment and the status of public opinion of the Global Times;the third part is a content analysis,mainly describing and analyzing "Shan Renping";the fourth part is a discourse analysis,focusing on "Shan Renping".The fifth part is the experience enlightenment,summarizing and summarizing the basic characteristics of "Shan Renping" column;the sixth part is the conclusion and discussion,reviewing the analysis process and shortcomings.The results of content analysis show that there are three structural characteristics of ShanRenping's column: Chinese subject,critical horizon and sensational skills.That is to say,the subject of the comment is China,the comment tends to be critical,and the comment Title pays attention to emotional expression.The results of discourse analysis show that in the text dimension,Shan Renping's column constructs three images of "conflict society","progressive country" and "complex China",which indicate that it should be tolerant to face the current situation of contemporary Chinese society;in the discourse practice dimension,Shan Renping's column adopts such strategies as "historical corpus","cultural metaphor" and "heroic symbols",hoping to increase its discourse expression skills by improving its discourse expression skills.Strengthen the attraction of mainstream culture;in the direction of social practice,Shan Renping devotes himself to maintaining the stability of the current discourse order by utilizing the background or behavior of "patriotic context","protest behavior" and "future vision".In addition,the study also finds that Shan Renping's commentary text has five characteristics: "light propaganda,heavy guidance","stressing familiarity and alienation,dividing distances from distances","people-oriented,don't disturb it"," Do not obstruct the people from speaking or their progress","popular language,plain reasoning".It basically follows the behavioral logic of guiding the people to spontaneously respond to socialist ideology.Therefore,in general,in the flood of diversified public opinion,Shan Renping's discourse strategy fits the essence of the theory of cultural hegemony,actively exerts the guiding function of news media in the field of public opinion,actively competes for cultural hegemony in the field of social thought,and has made due contributions to maintaining the stability of the current discourse order,and accumulated many successful experiences.
