Study Of Chinese Publishing History In The Taiwan Region Of China From 1950s To 1970s

From 50s to 70s in 20th century,the study of Chinese publishing history in the Taiwan Region of China had accomplished many achievements.It not only deepened the research of traditional version and printing,but also combined the publishing history with various aspects of social culture,which expanded the research field of publishing history.In this thesis,it compressively gathers the relative research results of the scholars in the Taiwan Region of China in this time span.Throgh inductiveness and comparison,it sums up the characteristics and achievements of publishing history of the Taiwan Region of-China in this stake.explores its developing patterns,with a view to a more comprehensive recognition of Chinese publishings history in 20th centuryThis thesis consists of six main parts.In the introduction part,it elaborates significance of the subject,birielincg the previous research,defining the study boundary and methodologsy of this paper.In the first part,it mainly explores the results of the scholars in the Taiwan Region of China in traditional publishing research,mainly involves monographs,proceedings,journal articles,and reprinted booksThe second part discusses the achievements of the researchers in the Taiwan Region of China in various periods of publishing history,including the study of Bamboo-silk era,paper manuscripts eraand block-printing eta.which advent of Tang to Qing dynasty.In the third part,it discusses the special topic on publishing history that the scholars in the Taiwan Region of China explored,which is focusins on the research on publishing technique,the history of printmaking,the publishing on specific books and document,newspaper from different ages and modern magazines,publishing market,censorship and communication,and book collection and collectors.On publishing technique,it introduces the invention,development,application and spreading of papermaking,printing and typography,the origin and spreadining of color printing,book binding,and the form of books:On woodcut print art,it mainly focus on studying in the printmaking of Ming dynasty,folk printmaking and the comprehensive study of woodcut print arts;About the publishing on specific books and document,it introduces Confucian classics,career book,textbook and maps:For newspapers and magazines,it elaborates the development and evolution of different ages,the publisher of important newspapers,as well as the printing and publishing of modern magazines;As for publishing mariket,censorship and communication,it involves the price of ancient books,books burning and publishing censorship,laws and rules in different dynasties,furthermore,the communications between China and Japan.Korea,Vietnam,and Russia;in the part of book collection and collectors,it discusses the study results on ancient book collecting history by the researchers in the Taiwan Region of China.The fourth part is about the characteristics and influences.It sorts out that the leading publishing history researchers in the Taiwan Region of China were mainly come from the subjects of Chinese linguistics and literature,library science,journalism,printing and publishing.During this period,those study results mainly published on the periodical of library science,printing,literature,history and philosophy.Meanwhile,it summarizes the features of the Taiwan Region of China publishing history study in the aspects of traditional academic inheritance and overseas academic exchanges.In addition.it compares the studies publishing history of the Taiwan Region of China with Chinese Mainland in the same period.Finally,it discusses the influence on the later study of publishing history by the results of this stage.Finally,this paper concludes that during this period,the study of Chinese publishing history in the-Taiwan Region of China has developed in the basic research of traditional philologyas well as the cross-study of publishing and social culture.showing the blending feature of the textology of the Republic of China era and the diversified research of overseas.In the meanwhile,the research in Chinese mainland and the Taiwan region was complemented each other,and it also made up for the shortcomings of research in the Chinesemainland in many aspects.The scholars in the Taiwan Region of China continue to exploe and improve the research theories.methodscontents and systems of Chinese publishing history.actively promote the development of Chinese publishing history research,and has made outstanding contributions to the study of Chinese publishing history in the 20th century.There are five other appendices in this thesis,which are the academic books,research reports,collected papers,journal,magazine and newspaper articles,as well as the dissertations of doctors and masters of Chinese publishing history from the 1950s to 1970s for reference.
