Reading is the basic means for humans to acquire knowledge,and it is the most direct and effective way to learn.Humans understand the world,continue and develop civilization by knowledge gained through reading.Reading can be said to be one of the most basic social practice activities of mankind.The Chinese have attached importance to cultural heritage and attention to reading since ancient times,but the promotion of reading from the national level originated in 1997.The knowledge project initiated by the Central Ministry of Culture in 1997 marked the beginning of reading promotion activities in China.In 1999,it was approved by the General Administration of Press and Publication of China and organized by the China Publishing Science Institute to implement the basic national project of “National National Reading and Purchasing Tendency Survey”.The survey was conducted every two years from 1999 to 2007 and has since been changed to an annual survey.This is the largest and most continuous basic reading study on the opening of national reading in the history of our country.By the end of 2018,15 times national reading surveys have been carried out,covering 29 provinces,municipalities and autonomous regions,with an effective sample size of 18,666.Based on this national reading survey report,this paper will sort out the data and summarize the characteristics of the national reading characteristics from 1999 to 2017 and analyze the reasons.Finally,we found that the national reading problem from 1999 to 2017 and devoted to finding solutions to problems from all levels.This thesis is discussed in the following five parts: The first part is the analysis of the national reading survey report from 1999 to 2017 from the data sources,the survey content and the reading situation of different groups of people,laying the foundation for the following.The second part begins with five aspects: reading subject,reading media,content,reading mode and reading environment,and discusses in detail the changing of national reading features.The third part,use the above part of the specific performance analysis the reasons for change,the times are changing,in the process of media changes,changes in the social environment,changes in the reading subject will affect the changes in national reading characteristics.The fourth part and the fifth part elaborate on the problems existing in the reading of the whole people and the promotion of reading measures for the whole people.By analyzing the data and content in the 1999-2017 National Reading Survey report,the characteristics of national reading in reading subjects,reading media,reading content,reading style and environment are summarized,and the changing factors from reading media are read.The changing factors of the social environment and the reading subject factors analyze the reasons for the changes in the characteristics of national reading.Exploring the lack of legal protection of national reading in the current environment,the failure of the national reading activities to achieve the expected results,the imbalance between the traditional reading and digital reading of adults,and the digital reading of minors focused on animation,games,etc.Seek effective solutions at the government level,national individual and family level,as well as educational organizations and media.
