| China's aging people has continued to increase.With the development of artificial intelligence and other technologies,intelligent robots have brought solutions to the problems of aging,and continuously meeting the physiological and psychological needs of the elderly.The development of technology also brings opportunities for good user experience.Voice interaction has become an important interaction method between the elderly and companion robots for its advantages.Some voice interaction design principles have been proposed,but they are not aiming at the elderly users because they have not fully considered the characteristics of older users whose charactristics are different from other age groups,especially in cognition.The study aims to reduce the cognitive load of the elderly in the voice interaction with companion robots,make the voice interaction more in line with their cognitive characteristics,and improve their using experience.Firstly,based on the analysis of the existing human-computer interaction model and the voice interaction framework,and the analysis of cognitive efforts of the elderly during the voice interaction process,the voice interaction framework for the elderly is proposed for the first time.The framework consists of three ports:user,interface and system,and four sets of interactive streams.Secondly,referring to the study of the cognition and linguistics of the elderly,the cognitive load and cognitive characteristics of the elderly are sorted out corresponding to each task link.Finally,corresponding to the cognitive load and cognitive characteristics of the elderly in each link,and also considering companion robots,12 design strategies are proposed based on the theoretical analysis,including customized wake-up words,prompt before feedback,etc.8 of them are proposed for the first time.The effectiveness of two strategies,customized wake-up words and using the elderly speaking,and their specific criteria were verified by experimental methods such as performance measurement,dual comparison and user interview,etc.The value of the voice interaction framework for elderly and voice interaction design strategies of elderly companion robot,is to direct the voice interaction design process of elderly companion robot,so that the designers could pay attention to the cognitive load and cognitive characteristics of them,then elderly companion robots will be able to solve the problems of aging better. |
