The display of multimedia technology has been widely used in museum exhibitions.Many scholars have conducted research on the interrelationship with the multimedia,exhibition and audience.However,few studies focus on the personalized needs of different audience on multimedia exhibits,and failed to relate visitor expectation with the multimedia exhibits.This paper researches on the role of the multimedia exhibits in viewing the visitor experience through the aspect of visitors' visiting motivation with the method of visitor study according to John Falk's.The study is conducted at Zhejiang Museum,Zhejiang Museum of Natural History,Zhejiang Science and Technology Museum province and Chinese Umbrella Museum by random sampling investigation of visitors.Researcher firstly interviewed before the visit,take the tracking observation in the process of audience and calling for feedback one month after visit.With the analysis of the content of the audience,this paper divides the visitors' motivation into five types as leisure and social,knowledge-learning,experience-accumulation,service-to-others,and body-mind relaxing.This paper evaluates the experience with the aspects of interaction design,leisure experience and exhibition communication,so as to better understand the visitors'experience.This paper presents strategies of multimedia exhibits for each type of audience by comparing the needs of different visitors and their actual experience.On the practical level,this study provides targeted solutions and strategies for the museum display in multimedia exhibits.On the theoretical level,this study combines the museum visitor experience model,leisure experience theory,interaction design which provides a more comprehensive perspective.Finally,the paper draws the conclusion that the present museum multimedia exhibits can not meet the needs of different audiences well,and there are needs to be improved with the aspects of the form,content and related settings of exhibition.At the same time,the museum should know the audience's visiting motivation according to the corresponding needsof different visitors to motivation,set up or improve multimedia exhibits for better optimization and promotion,which can enhance the audience experience in multimediaexhibits.
