Research Of The Kuomintang's Censorship System On Newspapers And Periodicals (1928-1949)

In 1928,the KMT formally united the country and began its autocratic rule under the name of "political training".At the beginning of the political training period,the Kuomintang authorities issued a series of publishing decrees,which involved newspaper management,military news,books,magazines,advertisements and other aspects,which had a great impact on the publishing industry at that time.This paper will take part of the legal text promulgated by the Kuomintang from 1928 to 1949 as the main research object,analyze the news inspection policy of the Kuomintang authorities during the rule of the mainland,and focus on the "Kuomintang press censorship system".This study intends to analyze from five aspects:The first part is the introduction.This part mainly explains the source of the subject,research significance,research problems,research methods,as well as the key and difficult innovation points of the research.Through a simple analysis of domestic academic works related to the history of journalism and the news communication system,the current situation of academic research is understood.The second part introduces the background of the Kuomintang's press censorship system,including the rise and development of the press censorship system and the social environment during the period of the national government.The emergence of the system is closely related to the social environment,and the background is analyzed,on the one hand,because it is the historical characteristic of the study of the history of journalism,and on the other hand,because the social environment is one of the inevitable inducing factors for the newspaper censorship system,which plays a supplementary role for the later analysis of the newspaper censorship system.The third part is about the operation of the Kuomintang press censorship system,which is also the focus of this study.This part mainly focuses on text analysis,and the research content includes three aspects,which are respectively the procedures and institutions of censorship,the objects and standards of censorship,and the means and methods of censorship.Through the study of the operation process of the newspaper censorship system,we can analyze the purpose of the newspaper censorship of the Kuomintang during this period.Finally,by combining the cases of newspaper censorship,we can interpret the newspaper censorship system during this period,and discuss the censorship system from the case.The fourth part is to consider the problems existing in the press censorship system of the Kuomintang authorities,including the serious color of human rule in the censorship system,the lack of independence in the operation of the censorship system and the defects in the establishment of the system.This part will start from the whole of the Kuomintang in the period of the Chinese mainland,and prove two major problems in the press censorship system through examples,so as to further study the defects in its system.The last part is the summary.This part analyzes the inevitability of the system through the above research on the press censorship system of the Kuomintang government during the period of the mainland.
