High performance,low cost and miniaturization have become the important development direction of microwave/RF fields.LTCC technology as a kind of popular international and advanced integrate design,manufacturing and packaging technology,can improve the integration and reliability of the system in a considerable extent and provide a new thought for realizing microwave circuit and system.This paper designs a kind of Ku band receiver based on LTCC technology.The receiver is mainly composed of the RF chain,LO chain and power supply,where the RF chain including the Ku band low noise amplifier and down converter.This receiver inherits the design principle of the traditional space born Ku band receiver and adopts the designing experience of miniaturization.The Ku band down converter as the core part,adopts LTCC technology.The active component such as amplifiers and mixer MMIC chips are assembled on the LTCC substrate and the complex transmission lines,interconnections and passive components are integrated within the LTCC multi-layer substrate.The interconnection between each unit circuit through the LTCC layer avoids the component level assembly and simplifies the assembly level of the system level.In addition,using the integrated encapsulation of metal housing avoids the risk of multiple module cascade failures and proves the reliability,consistency and mass production of Ku band receiver.The high-density three-dimensional LTCC technology enables the Ku band receiver to further reduce the volume and quality while realizing the function of the product.This dissertation studies the subject of Ku-band receiver based on LTCC technology from the aspects of receiver overall design,module circuit research and design,receiver layout and physical test.The works completed are as following:1.According to the system performance requirements,the design of the whole link scheme and the distribution of indicators were completed,and the rationality of the design of the scheme was verified through the main electrical performance indicators.2.The three module circuits in Ku receiver are designed: Ku down-conversion channel module,Ku low-noise amplifier module and local oscillator module.Especially for the receiver core component Ku down-conversion channel,relying on LTCC technology and MMIC technology,a complete system design from the link budget,passive circuit simulation design and overall layout and wiring was implemented,and the key technologies involved were further explored.3.Based on the design of each module circuit,the Ku receiver was structurally laid out,processed and tested in-kind.The main performance indicators of all components basically reached the technical requirements,and the design scheme was verified.A systematic test and detailed data analysis was performed on the core component Ku down-conversion channel,and corresponding improvement ideas were proposed.The main technical features of the receiver are:1.The RF chain is integrated into independent modules through integrated packaging;2.All chips and components in the down converter are embedded on the LTCC substrate;3.Each unit circuit in the RF chain interconnects with the transitional structure of the LTCC;4.In the layout of the whole receiver,the sealing multichip module,such as the RF chain,LO chain,are inter linked by shielding cables,and the overall layout is flexible;5.The DC/DC power supply circuit is installed independently and has little in fluency on the RF chain.
