A research about the key components which are inside the two types of W-band receivers (direct detection type and heterodyne type) is taken. And relevant designs are made, as LNA aiming at wide-band and low-noise, geophone aiming at large-range and high-sensitive, mixer aiming at wide-band and low-loss.As a result, predetermined requirements are achieved.First, the design of LNA is presented in the paper. By analyzing its principles, discussing its technical indicators, and examining the flow of chips on the market, TNL4-110 is chosen as a LNA chip to make the design more effective. Based on that, a stable bias circuit is designed to make the chip working well. Besides, to suit two types of receivers(direct examination receiver and heterodyne receiver), two different solutions are designed,and each of those have achieved its request.Second, a study about the geophone which is used in direct examination receiver is taken in the paper. By analyzing and discussing its principles and technical indicators, HSCH-9161 is chosen as a detector tube in the paper. Based on that, a comprehensive matching circuit and low-pass filter are designed. Then a well-functioned geophone is accomplished.Third, a study about the importance of the mixer which is used in heterodyne receivers is taken in the paper. To start the design, DMK-2790 is chosen as mixing tube after analyzing its principles and technical indicators. Then a 180-degree circular bridge and a matching circuit is designed. Then a well-functioned mixer is accomplished.Finally, to make the components well-linked to the waveguide, a W-band waveguide to finline microstrip transition is designed.
