As a basic participant in international affairs,a country's image directly affects its right of speech in handling international affairs.As a kind of reflection of subjective public opinion based on objective facts,country image is structured by mass media in the international communication which takes the country as the unit and mass media as the medium.As an emerging form of news report relying on Internet technology,with its own advantages,online special report has been a report form which can reflect the characteristics of online news report most and widely used in the international communication aiming at major events.Starting from the concept that “the media shall make themselves better”,around the theme of “international communication strategies of online special reports of major events”,using the theory of news frame,focusing on online international special reports,through analyzing the cases of online special reports of “ G20 Summit in 2016” from the People's Daily and the international reports of Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation from Xinhuanet,this study summarizes characteristics and deficiencies of news samples in specific cases from the perspective of “bottom” framework.It can be found from analysis that at present,there are some problems in China's international reports of online special subjects,such as the lack of “audience-oriented” concept,strong propaganda color,single form of content presentation and straight news in the majority.Aiming at these problems,this study puts forward that firstly,the “audience-oriented” concept shall be introduced into international communication,and more attention shall be paid to audiences both in theoretical research and practical communication.Secondly,mainstream media shall strengthen the construction of new media's international communication including the brand construction of new media and the talent team construction around new media.
