With the rapid developments of network technique,it's necessary for network researchers to design and develop new protocols for satisfying the network requirements which update continually.The simulation technology can simulate the behavior of protocol,analysis and compare performance between different protocols well which cause the fact that the technology plays an important role in the design process of network protocol.For the reason that the existing network protocol simulation tools are not well fit the needs of MAC protocol's simulation requirements,members of research group have designed a fundamental simulation platform for MAC protocols,while the fundamental platform's deficiencies and defects gradually exposed with the platform being used,therefore,the fundamental simulation should be designed and optimized in order to promote the follow-up works.This thesis mainly focuses on the design and optimization of simulation platform for Access Network MAC Layer and the validations of platform's correctness and effectiveness.First of all,a depth study of the requirements from functional and non-functional of platform is made in this thesis,which mainly includes the support of different topology,the support of different duplex modes,the support of different medium access methods,support of the protocol data transmission simulation,platform's stability,scalability and usability,and the requirements like the support of multiple traffics,the support of multiple channel models,the support of multi-channel scenarios,and the perfect node functions are also pointed out.Second,some core design ideas are proposed,including simulation running mechanism,topology representation,traffic model,design of abstract PHY layer,parallel multichannel,and the internal structure of nodes,channels and other basic simulation elements is designed as well as the overall architecture of the simulation platform.What's more,a detailed design and the implementation of optimization schemes for each models of platform is described,the memory management mechanism is designed and implemented in the bottom module,a large number of simulation basic element structures are defined and the implementation principle of some important contents including general traffic model,flow classification mechanism,queue and queue management algorithm,data transfer process,node forwarding function,node aware channel state mechanism,.packet loss mechanism on channel are explained detailly combining with the basic elements like node and channal,the design and implementation of interface configuration function and related interface are included in the interface module.Ultimately,the optimized functions of platform are tested and verified by the design based on different scenarios covering the variable rate traffic,two conflict domain scenario,the multiple channel models,the multi channel scenarios,the the node forwarding,queue management,and the packet loss mechanism on channel,also,pure ALOHA,slot ALOHA,1-on type CSMA and multichannel TDMA is choosen to verify the function of platform,the simulation results are basically consistent with the theoretical analysis results,finally,the design and implementation of the related functions and mechanisms of the platform is verified to be correct and effective by the simulation results from all the scenarios mentioned above.
