Research And Development Of Silicone Rubber Substrate Coating Apparatus For Stretchable And Flexible Electronics

In the published literature,PDMS(Polydimethylsiloxane)is widely used as a flexible or stretchable substrate,researchers generally use spin coating or coating blade to make small area PDMS thin film by hand,but those process are inefficiency and not suitable for industrialization.In order to solve this problem,we have spent a lot of time to study the process of fabricating PDMS thin film continuously,and finally we find the coating technique is a good way to make it.This thesis focuses on how to apply the coating method selection with the characteristics of Silicone elastomer,the design process of the coating apparatus including mechanical and control components,and the optimization of the coating process.The paper mainly include the following works:?.Have a selection of Silicone elastomer materials,then select the comma blade as coating die to achieve the coating process.Complete the design work of the coating apparatus for mechanical and control component based on the roll-to-roll process.?.After the prototype of coating apparatus is being carried out,we operate the coating apparatus,there appears a great numbers of bubble lesions and crater-shaped pits in the surface of PDMS thin film,then the quality defects encountered in the pre-experiment process are analyzed.After we redesign the reservoir and increase the corona device,those quality defects are eliminated with effect.After that we make experiments to study the uniformity analysis for PDMS film and carry out an equation of thickness control about this apparatus.In this work,the apparatus with comma blade coating die can fabricate the PDMS thin film with high flatness,and it's thickness approximately range from 60~150?m.It indicates that the design of the coating apparatus is suitable for the manufacturing process of the Stretchable and flexible electronic device,which can be further developed.
