"Pseudo-Neutrality" : Gatekeeping Mechanism Of Information Search Platform And China-Concerned Media Bias

Environmental issues are closely related to human development,accounting for the important agenda for media information.With the accelerated process of industrialization in China,the environmental problems are also becoming increasingly prominent.For the reasons of politics and ideology,the traditional Chinese media in the relevant haze issues tend to shape China as "pollution perpetrators",the Chinese haze derived a lot of prejudice and subjective fantasy(Xu Qiyuan,2013).The pollution discharge index is much higher than China's India(World Health Organization,2015),but the Western traditional media selective neglect,not demonized rendering and focusing(Hou Xiaosu,2014).In recent years,neutrality and demineralization of the development of data news,and novelty and interest to attract a lot of audience.The audience can take the initiative to check the information search platform,access to personalized news message,no longer attached to the traditional media one-way spread,the traditional media control status is being adjusted restructuring.The most representative information search platform is Google News,which uses the value of machine algorithm for news link rankings,is considered to be a manifestation of the search for neutral selection processing(Jin Jianbin,2014).However,some scholars have pointed out that many factors under the control of information search neutrality is an unrealistic ideal state(Chen Changfeng,2017).There is a series of discussion and controversy on the "neutrality" of the information search platform.It is possible to subvert the bias of the traditional media era and reflect the "search neutrality" Or is still dominated by a number of factors to "search preferences" to destroy "search neutrality",and ultimately continue or deepen the "prejudice" ?In this paper,Google News this information search platform for the research object,in the imprint haze as the research topic,to control the mechanism and the media bias as the theoretical basis,this study mainly use large data climbing insects,mining,visualization methods,construction text structure topic model,And the introduction of fantasy theme law,analysis of the Western context of the haze imagination bias.First,catch 2011-2017 Google News in the haze on the issue of news links,from the quantitative point of view,China haze related reports much higher than India.The second is to select the news time,message source(Media,Country)The inclusion rate,title,news summary and other elements,the specific visual analysis,found that China's haze related reports were the Western media led,China(mainland)Media coverage rate is much lower than the Western media;Indian haze related reports by its local media,India's media record rate and the Western media gap is not large.Third,the construction of text analysis of all-round perspective reporting mechanism,divided into four steps:(1)text type assessment,found that the Chinese haze topic is a pan-politicized multi-dimensional environmental issues,India haze is a pan-social single dimension environmental issues;(2)the text emotional understanding,found that China's haze topic was negative,neutral,gradual neutral emotional features,India haze issues show neutral,negative supplement,gradually negative features;(3)text entity extraction and(4)text structure of the topic model construction,in order to quantify the way to sum up the stamp haze related text of the structural topic model.Fourth,in order to explore the significance of the social science of the text structure topic,the fantasy theme method is introduced on the basis of the structural topic model,and the five kinds of fantasy types are summarized.Chinese Chinese government to help China's haze control,(3)"thick fog diffuse"-China's haze Chinese city status,(4)"future hopeless"-China's haze China development prospects,(5)"water deep hot"-China The Chinese social state of the haze is(1)"habits as the usual type"-the Indian society on the haze of the perception,(2)"mediocrity to do type"-the Indian government on the haze of the governance,(3)"natural social environment"-"fog stare"-overseas countries haze perception,(5)"Avoid"-India's development prospects.It is concluded that the Chinese bias under the haze problem in Google News exists in the aspects of message base configuration,tone emotion positioning,symbolic fantasy type,and finally puts forward the relevant rational coping strategies and make the prospect.
